Three Suns is an exercise in inten­si­fi­ca­tion through contin­u­ous modu­la­tion. As the repeated figu­ra­tions rise, they grad­u­ally take on varied char­ac­ters, threat­en­ing to pull apart the struc­ture. The piece is book­ended by a slow, circular chorale.
