He’s put together a really interesting program focussing on composers influenced by Schumann, alongside music by the man himself. I’ll be playing his otherworldly Gesänge der Frühe as well as two new short pieces of my own, then joining Ming & friends for Kurtág’s Hommage à R. Sch. and Schumann’s Märchenerzählungen.

Our show is a grab bag of Americana: Charles Ives, po-po-mo hymn arrangements, popular song, unpopular song, Some Connecticut Gospel in a brand-new arrangement for piano and Hammond B3… what’s not to love? Really, nothing.
